Amsal 3:1-7 Hai anakku, janganlah engkau melupakan ajaranku, dan biarlah hatimu memelihara perintahku, karena panjang umur dan lanjut usia serta sejahtera akan ditambahkannya kepadamu. Janganlah kiranya kasih dan setia meninggalkan engkau! Kalungkanlah itu pada lehermu, tuliskanlah itu pada loh hatimu, maka engkau akan mendapat kasih dan penghargaan dalam pandangan Allah serta manusia. Percayalah kepada TUHAN dengan segenap hatimu, dan janganlah bersandar kepada pengertianmu sendiri. Akuilah Dia dalam segala lakumu, maka Ia akan meluruskan jalanmu. Janganlah engkau menganggap dirimu sendiri bijak, takutlah akan TUHAN dan jauhilah kejahatan;
– Disiplin dan sungguh-sungguh
– Komitmen : harus mengosongkan diri
1) Harus selalu mengingat ajaran Tuhan, agar kita mendapat panjang umur, lanjut usia serta sejahtera (ayat 1-2)
2) Kasih dan setia kita kalungkan pada leher kita dan kita tuliskan dalam loh hati kita agar kita mendapat kasih dan penghargaan dari allah dan manusia (ayat 3-4)
Kalau kita setia. Apa sesungguhnya kesetiaan itu ?

– Kita setia dalam perkara yang kecil maka Tuhan akan memberikan perkara yang besar
– Saat kita setia sesungguhnya kita diuji. Bukan berkat yang Tuhan sediakan tetapi ujian yang Tuhan berikan untuk meraih berkat
2 ) Kunci kesaksian yang efektif (Amsal 19:22). Sifat yang diinginkan pada seseorang ialah kesetiaannya
3 ) Bagian dari ketaatan dalam hukum Kristus (MAtius 23:23)
– Keadilan dan belas kasihan dan kesetiaan yang satu harus dilakukan yang lain tidak diabaikan
4) Menuntut pengorbanan (Naomi Rut 1:1-22)
– Perlu kerelaan
– Kesetiaan tidak bisa bergantung pada realita (kesetiaan = tidak realistis). Pengorbanan butuh keadilan, belas kasihan dan kesetiaan. Percaya dan berserah (orang yang berkomitmen)
– Allah menawarkan kepada orang yang percaya untuk selalu mengikuti Dia
– Butuh satu komitmen (pikiran, perasaan dan kehendak harus kita arahkan kepada komitmen
– Ada harga yang tinggi dari komitmen yaitu mempertahankan iman kita (Yohanes 5:24)
